Agricultural properties are increasingly recognised for their strong asset potential, however many owners do not wish to operate the enterprise themselves.
At the same time, experienced farmers seeking to expand their operation are recognising the benefits of entering into a lease situation as opposed to purchase.
This situation has given rise to more and more country being leased, but often both owners and potential lessees are unsure what the lease should be worth, or the components that might be included in an agreement.
Rural Property NSW has been providing lease consultancy services for many years to both lessors (owners) and lessees (tenants).
We can assist Lessors (owners) with the following:
- Identifying key goals and developing a plan.
- Appraisal of lease value.
- Identifying potential lessees through our network or via marketing.
- Compilation of a property information document for use in marketing.
- Advertising of the lease.
- Conducting inspections.
- Negotiating with potential lessees.
- Periodic inspection reports once the lease is in place.
We can assist Lessees (tenants) with the following:
- Identifying suitable country for lease.
- Assistance in determining lease values.
- Negotiating appropriate rates and conditions.
Our fees for lease consultancy are time-based. Where we provide a full marketing service for the lease, a quote will be provided.
To avoid conflicts of interest, Rural Property NSW will never act on behalf of both the lessor and lessee regarding the same property lease.
