Relishing a new opportunity!

Have you enjoyed a mouth-watering meal at a wedding in northwest NSW? If you have, there’s every chance that it was provided by Relish Catering from Narrabri.

Katrina (Treen) White and her Relish team usually cater for around 30 weddings a year, plus a multitude of corporate and private functions.

The business began after Treen returned from overseas in 2001 and has no set cooking style but accommodates and evolves to meet all taste preferences.

The Relish team is known for its ability to produce amazing results in challenging environments and Treen could probably write a book about some of the tricky scenes that she has navigated in the “off road” catering business.

“We’ve had a marquee falling down just before the wedding party arrived and recently our mobile cool-room failed on the day of a big function,” said Treen.

“But we just keep going and work out a way around anything that comes up.”

COVID has been problematic for Relish with almost all weddings and functions being cancelled, so Treen had a rethink.

As a result, “Relish Pantry” will be opening at 177 Maitland St, Narrabri on October 12th.  The new venture will be offering fresh gourmet salads and sandwiches, artisan produce, handmade take-home meals, giftware and hampers.

“We have nearly 20 years experience championing Australian artisan food. We love it!” Treen enthused.

“Our store will stock products and ingredients we believe create exceptional meals – the same products that we use in our catering,” she said.

Relish Pantry is conveniently located for tourists and locals alike and will be popular with anyone looking for a delicious snack or meal ready-to-go.

“We have been providing handmade take-home meals and Australian gourmet produce from our main kitchen location, but we have outgrown the space available and the new shop will allow us to expand our range,“ said Treen.

Rural Property NSW will certainly be regular customers of the new venture and we are sure it will be a resounding success.

Bon Appetit!
